Owls Head

	Owls Head Lighthouse - Nobody is quite sure how Owl's Head got its name. Some say the picturesque promontory resembles an owl from the water, but it takes great imagination to see anything of the sort. Some say Owl's Head is the English translation of the Indian name for the spot, Medadacut.
	Knox County Regional Airport - The City of Rockland turned the airport over to Knox County on December 4, 1968. The airport was renamed the Knox County Regional Airport. The airport properties have been upgraded with federal, state and county funding.
